I Have Very Vivid Dreams

Within the last five years, I lost my two best friends, David and Kai to cancer. Today, I dream of them often. Last night I had a dream that Kai was with me. We were trying to get into my shop door, but somehow, it was blocked. I was upset, as it was past my time to open. Luckily, there were no customers waiting, but I could hear the phone ringing. I just knew I needed to get in to answer the calls, but I couldn't with whatever was blocking the door.

Kai was trying to calm me down, but it wasn't working very well. The last thing I remember was placing my hand on his shoulder and realizing just how skinny he was. I could feel nothing but bone which reminded me that he was dying.

I woke up at that moment in tears. Oh Kai, how I miss you!!
