I Like History

Yes... it's so easy to start getting absorbed into an era. At different times I've been absorbed by the history of the American Colonial era, and the early years of the Republic. I've also at times been absorbed by certain eras in classical times, and European or Latin American history.

We need to have a knowledge of history. Without that we will be condemned to make the same mistakes in the future.

what is one thing you find particularly interesting?

for me, I find it fascinating that as vice president of the US Dick Cheney worked hard to strengthen the Executive branch, in part, because he had been in the Ford administration and watched the Executive branch lose much of its strength because of the Nixon Watergate scandal

I like old European history, Russian history...and pre WWI American history...they shaped who we are today

There's something about how they carved their way in a new land... Discovered what was available...making their way in a new land

Right, history is the life of people living long ago, but their dreams, problems, wishes and fears are similar to ours.

it adds a LOT to know those kinds of things

Russian History is very deep and complicated.
