I Love You Jesus Christ, Jesus Christ I Love You Yes I Do

[c=#BF0080]Does the Bible forbid drinking alcohol?[/c]

If the idea is to be more christ-like, (as it claims he was perfect), count how many times Jesus has wine whenever meals are mentioned. I think the bible encourages drinking alcohol, at least with meals.

Wow that is a tough one to be sure. I assure you that he cares deeply about the condition of the world, but not sure about why it is allowed. Just sure of the fact that things begin to change when we turn to him with our whole hearts, and as for the ones who commit violent crimes, I am like you, it would be very hard to forgive them, but, that is the God that I know one who loves deeply enough to do just that.

@Silverwings I understand reasons are made by religious institutions. I understand the human need for a greater power. I even attend church and meet with missionaries. I can appreciate the positivity that religion can spread. I just can't believe in it.

@Shayla There is no way that I could not believe, God is so very real to me, ever since I was first converted, it is hard for me to understand that it is different with others.

Nope. Actually the last supper included wine as a symbol of Jesus' blood.

@SW-User Yes, you are so right!!

But it also says to not do anything that would cause your brother to stumble. So how do you interput that?
Silverwings · 61-69, F
@malizz Just from all the Christians I have been around for the last 30+ years.

No, only the people interpretting the way they want in order to control others do that.

@ProdigalSummer Many truly believe that the bible forbids alcohol, I don't think it is their intention to actually control anyone, they just believe in abstinence.

@Silverwings 1 Timothy 5:23

Ephesians 5:18 says do not get drunk on wine but be filled with the holy spirit - I presume that means whiskey. :)

No, Jesus turned the water into wine.

You can drink just don't get drunk.
