The purpose or meaning of life can be many things depending on what your main focusing point is. If we look at it from a biological standpoint, the purpose of the individual is to grow, mate to ensure the survival of the species and one day die. Not very fulfilling to be honest, putting god in the picture would make us assume that we were put here for a reason, that he entrusted this planet to us which sounds more comforting I guess.
