On this day in 1915, 300 Armenian intellectuals were arrested and mostly executed as part of the beginning of the Armenian Genocide.
1.5 Million Armenians would lose their lives, mostly women and children thanks to the Ottoman Empire.
To this day, the Turkish government which is the successor state to the Ottoman Empire denies this happened and even appointed genocidaires to government posts.
