[big]Peter Gabriel - Don't Give Up[/big]

[youtube=https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jqi1htN7Zd8]

As I said in my last post, I have been looking for a new job for the last several months, and I finally got one. I'm really excited. I think it's going to be a great fit for me. The support that I've gotten from my friends here has helped me a lot.

Listening to this song about perseverance has also given me a great deal of encouragement.

I would like to dedicate this song to everyone on EP who is trying to find a new job. It's not easy, but if I could do it, you can do it too. Just don't give up.

Yay, congratulations!

My problems with looking for a new job are that when I am depressed I tend to be my worst enemy and at least subtly put myself down in interviews, be too honest and insecure. When I am not depressed I like my current job and I question the need for a new job usually. Though I probably should find another one. I have been with my current one long so it is time for a new challenge.

Anyway, I wish you all the best in your new job! Enjoy.

Congratulations, what are you doing?

Thank you! We were doing data entry, downloading financial documents from Xerox's client's server, saving them to the correct folders, and then electronically sorting them by entering the numeric code corresponding to the type of document. Now we're finished with that project, and we're opening mail, sorting them into stacks by the type of document, and making sure that they are in good enough condition to be scanned, so they don't jam the scanner. It's very simple, easy work, which is a nice change from the last two jobs I had before, which were very complicated and stressful. It's only temporary, through the end of April. But I probably wouldn't want to do this forever. I will probably want to go back to school, possibly to become a veterinary technician. Of course, this will take quite a bit of school, and I need a job in the meantime to pay my way through school. And this type of work fills the bill very nicely.

Thanks again.

Thank you.

How do you do that? I only know how to post a link to the video. Do you mind taking the time to explain how it's done? Thank you.
TeresaRudolph71 · 51-55, F
No, I don't mind. You pull up the website with the video in one window and your EP homepage in another window. Then you click "Post Experience" on your homepage. Then you click the thing that looks like a little camera to the left of where it says "Add a photo." Don't click the words "Add a photo." That won't work. Then click the musical notes that show up underneath the space where you type your story. When you do that, there will be a space to paste the URL from the video. Then, go to the window with the video playing, right-click on the video, and click "Copy video URL". Then go back to the screen where you're posting your story, and paste the URL into the space where you're being asked to paste the youtube URL. You can either right, click, then click paste, or just hold down the Control (Ctrl) key and type a "v." Then click "OK," and the video will show up there. Then click under the video and type your story there.

I hope that I explained it in a way that was easy to understand. It took me a while to figure it out myself. Have fun!

Thank you. I will try that.

You're welcome. I hope it works.

what job did you get, wish i could find one
TeresaRudolph71 · 51-55, F
It's a Transaction/Data Processor job. Right now I'm downloading images of financial documents, renaming them, and saving them to a special folder in the company's database. Later, I'm going to be sorting them electronically, by entering the alphanumeric code corresponding to the type of document each document is. So far I really like it. I enjoy the work, and the people there seem nice, though I haven't really gotten to know them yet.

I hope you can get a job someday soon too. Maybe when you've finished school, you'll be able to get something, even if it's just an internship to start with. I really hope you can get something that you like.
