What a beautiful verse to start such a bittersweet piece. I love free verse poetry most, and this is powerful. Love it!

The cold ghost of December passed through me just now,
Her icy kiss lasted only a moment but
She at least acknowledged my existance.
I'm left with a numbness of empty memories.
Silent night.
Till January takes hold of the cold,
And releases my past.
If only my lonely
Would survive and outlast.

Silent ones are the most dangerous.
We lie waiting
Soft as powdered sugar
Melting sweetly
Then I drop my stinger and you realize I am not sugar at all.
I am the arsenic you turned me into.
I was the wrong one to hurt
Because now your impending blood hangs uncertain
Like you left my soul.
