I want to try a new resturant/new food. How does lobster taste?

curiosi · 61-69, F
I have been to the coast of Maine and eaten freshly caught lobster, nothing like it in the world, sweet tasting. The lobster you get in other places is good and if you don't know the difference all the better.

Speaking for myself, lobster is good , but it falls far short of the rave reviews so many others give it. To me, it is not worth the money.

Then again, you might be like those others who think it's one of the greatest foods around.

An all you can eat buffet is still the best option. However, you may have to order lobster someplace and hope you like it. Ignore the negative comment here, only you know what you like to eat.

@IPmyPants Do you have an Old Country Buffet close by? They offer fresh food and many samples of things you might like to try. You can sample something you want to try or something you like. Or maybe a Red Lobster restaurant?

@MaryJanine This was a reply to iaminikki about trying lobster. You may try to send her a reply. Old Country Buffet is a good restaurant for trying new foods.

Try an all you can eat buffet. Maybe one that is serving lobster, (good luck)
Find some new food you like and have some of the foods you already like.

It's like a sweeter, tender, milder shrimp kind of flavor. But it goes really well with butter as others have said.

Hard to describe but lobster is a mild taste and is delicious steamed and dipped in melted butter

i like lobster, but fresher the better for sure

It's nothing special.

King crab is much better.

Yummy with butter and hot sauce :)

Thin and overpriced...

Just don’t pick a crappy chain place like Red Lobster to try it for the first time.
SW-User
I just looked up Razoo’s, and I’d definitely pick that place over Red Lobster if those are your options. @iamnikki

@SW-User I don't even see loster on their menu though. Their shrimp is good..

Another option is Legal Seafood out of Boston. They’ll overnight it to you. @iamnikki

I've never tasted lobster but I should imagine it tastes a bit like missing A.

@Stereoguy I'm just getting around to liking shrimp though..I only like popcorn shrimp. Bigger than that and it's just too rubbery for me
