Nope... I had a neighbor who was trapping for furs in the winter and one night he got drunk and decided to smoke a raccoon...he said it tasted just like smoked ham and he got my ex to try it, he said the same thing. He saved up the possum carcasses in a big plastic bag in his freezer and would sell them for $2 each to a man he had worked with at the military base...he’d get about 30-40 saved up and drive up to see the man and sell them to him. Said it paid for his gas money to check for his traps every day...he had a Diesel engine truck he used for that.
