Does anyone else get a little freaked out by double yolked eggs?

It just reminds me that I'm about to fry up another animals unborn babies and eat them 🤢 Twins
It doesnt bother me.. And commercial eggs arent fertilized so they arent even babies

Were they fertilized? If not there is no unborn (unhatched) babies involved.

@hippyjoe1955 I know logically but it still grosses me out

@coffeedimplez I haven't seen a double yolked egg for years. They are usually candled out and used for commercial purposes only. We used to get them on the farm and would fight over them since the yolks were the best part to eat. No one wanted the white. lol

@hippyjoe1955 interesting I love egg whites with the right seasoning. Since I only eat commercial egg I see double yolked more often than I'd like. My dad thinks they're a jackpot but im sure to change my dish to an egg white omelette if I see one. Mind you I was the kid who didn't like her macaroni sticking together

For a chicken to develop from an egg, it must be fertilized. Most eggs sold commercially in the grocery store are from poultry farms and have not been fertilized.

Yes! Me. So much me. I agree.
Will. Not. Knowingly. Eat.

Lol though logically I know they're totally fine.

But gross. Sooooo gross.

No I don’t, lived on a farm, it’s the older hens that start laying them before their egg-layer wears out.

coffeedimplez · 26-30, F
