I got a Smokenator for my Weber 22" 5 years ago. I run with some meat snobs/purists, and have never heard a complaint. It doesn't hold what some of the bigger smokers will, but I can do ribs for 15 with the racks & hover grill I've added along the way.
I can afford a dedicated smoker. I just don't want another toy taking up space. In what way have your results been lacking?

@hlpflwthat I'll have to look into that. Thanks. And yeah it's just different than what I'm used to. Never had the big fancy smokers around but my brother's chargriller had a smoker box. When he moved away I started with the little grill I have

@Powderflask I've yet to run across anyone unhappy with the Smokenator, although I imagine there's someone out there somewhere. It's kinda like the Weber kettle - it just does what it is supposed to do. Not a bad Xmas present idea? And if you do, get a hinged grill grate so you can add charcoal as you smoke without removing your grill & meat.
Meat is too expensive and delicious to ruin. A great resource for me - and even those who compete at this - is amazingribs.com What a wealth of everyman info from those who've 'been there.'
Low & slow for the win 😎
