Was always a fan of James Patterson but looking for some new authors to look into.. would gladly hear other suggestions.

@WildFlowers Janet Evanovich writes about a character called Stephanie Plum. She's a recovery agent for a bail bondsman. She lives in NJ and has a relationship with a local cop and a security agency owner.

J D Robb has a series of 45 novels written about LT Eve Dallas and her friends and paramour. They are located in NYC in about 2050. It's the future, but not like science fiction. It's James Patterson meets the future.

JK Rowling's novels under the name Robert Galbraith. Fantastic suspense/mysteries.
