I Consider My Pets Family

Ive decided to adopt a shelter cat. I named her Topaz. Shes a year and one month old; a domestic medium hair cat mix-her primary color is white with a bushy brown tail and she has the most beautiful topaz eyes I had ever seen! (Hence her name) She tested as a purple personality(secert admirer) which means shes a shy cat.
This urge came from a need for companionship and opening myself up to receiving love in all different forms. I think she's adjusting well. Topazs' trip home was sort of traumatizing for her. The mouse toy they left in her cardboard carrier scared her and she clawed her way out of the box during the drive home. She was bitter afterwards and hid from me all day, but thats usual. New home, new surroundings, I'd be frighten too. When I got home from work, she greeted me by rubbing her head on my legs. Oh, and I clean her litter box, which is a first for me. The smell is horrible but Im glad shes litter box trained. I think we're friends now. I'm not sure but after she greeted me she laid on her back and let me pet her belly. She's playful and curious. She also likes to follow me around the house, but when I reach out to pet her-she scurries away. I guess she only allows me to pet her when she wants the attention. Oh yeah, i forgot to mention. She likes to sleep by my feet. I guess we're bunking mates as well now. Even though she has a cat bed of her own. That is okay though, as long as shes comfortable. Im devoted to raising her and giving her a long prosperous and enjoyable life! Im determined and eager to form this bond with her. *Fingers crossed* I already love her.

You must be real friends by now. Topaz is a sweet name.
