I Had To Write The Same Sentence Over And Over As Punishment

It can be an effective punishment.
Strictmother · 46-50, F
The purpose is discipline.

Prefects at our school were permitted to award "lines" - only the headmaster or his deputy could administer the cane.
CountryLez22 · 22-25, F
Old school but could still be a pain
Strict4u · 56-60, M
Do you still have to write lines for punishment?
Sally57 · 61-69, T
@Strictmother That is easy let's start with 500
Strictmother · 46-50, F
@Sally57 A good idea.
Strictmother · 46-50, F
@LAURAJAYNE1 A shame.
If the goal is to improve handwriting, i agree 100%. I say this as someone who had to write the same sentence over and over as a punishment--but I no longer remember my grade-school offense.
Justforfun65 · 56-60, M

Strictmother · 46-50, F
@PhiloVance It does not kill him
PhiloVance · 41-45, M
@Strictmother You are not punishing for punishment's sake but rather to improve behavior.
Strictmother · 46-50, F
CookieLuvsBunny · 31-35, F

It is very effective, it keeps them busy from doing something else... what they like more, and of course it's boring and in the mean time they can think about what they did wrong, one of my favourite ways to punish my daughters.
That is very effective. The boredom it brought could lead one to reflect on what is wrong on him/her.

@Strictmother The possibility of the dreaded "seconds" right on top of the still tingling firsts would really focus my attention on penmanship!
