I Love Learning But Hate School

I am almost done learning the hiragana in japanese. I'm almost through Learn Python the hard way. I bought a new course on Python.

if I were learning how to program in college I'd have to take a million courses on English and math and learning how to manage a business etc rather than actual programming and the courses would be 5 years out of date.

my mom taught me how to read, In particular I love learning about History and also about Technology and trends and learning to write code.

It's telling to me I didn't learn how to write HTML or manage money in school. Nothing was taught about stocks or investing or that sort of thing in school.

90% of the public schools in america don't teach code. I was lucky to be able to even apply for WEB DESIGN in the BASIC form and I'd already learned it on my own.

Javascript? flash? Nope. just html. I could have learned in school but I already knew how to make websites and write html on my own.

I learned how to use IRC on my own. I learned how to fix computers Format a Hard Drive Reinstall an operating system and Flash Bios on my own. Those were all things I learned in my own time and I'm shocked and horrified that school doesn't even teach the basics to pass an A+ certification test. It should. Those are all relevant skills to the work force of today. We're not preparing children for the jobs of the future...'
