I Am A Christian But Im Not Perfect
I'm in this group. :D I agree with it's title. To my recollection I haven't posted a story in it and it seems like the best group I'm in to post this story.
It's a 5th or so hand story. I'm quoting an elder at my church who in a recent sermon talked about a magazine article about a class.
The class was a college Theology class and the title of the article was something like "The short version of Christian History" To my recollection, here it is
Christianity started in Palestine as a fellowship. It spread to Greece and became a philosophy. It spread to Italy and became an institution. (My commentating here: That sounds Anti- Catholic but I'm pretty sure that wasn't the main point the writers were attempting to make) The article continues: It spread to Europe and became a culture. It spread to America and became a business.
The youngest student in the class than asked a question. (My comment here again: Unless she was an 8 year old super genius Theology prodigy, I don't see how her being the youngest student is relevant) Anyway, her question was, "Isn't the church supposed to be a body?" The prof answered, "Yes." She than asked something like, "But isn't a body being used as a business the exact definition of prostitution?" Again, the prof answered "Yes", and I'm pretty sure that was the main point of the story and article.
