I Am A Christian But Im Not Perfect

...and I answer frivolous questions here. But my soul runs deep with insight I have no business claiming as my own. Jesus has changed me, but I am still human (as well as a bit mischievous, as far as humans go). I want to be accepted despite and in spite of my flaws and imperfections, qualifications and regressive tendencies. I will still continue to try to be more like Him, knowing in the long and short of it, I will fail. But continue I will, for He is the lover of my soul, the alpha and omega. He is the reason I am saved.

@GreensCornbreadYams you got it!!
Thank you, @GreensCornbreadYams. That was wonderfully said! What a nice thread to read as I wind down for bed. Thanks again!

You know how the Bible speaks of love? It's so descriptive, but the English language only has one word for love. It makes things a little more one-dimensional, description-wise. Anyway, here's a song called Teardrops by the group Massive Attack. I don't love any of their other stuff I've listened to, but this song is worth listening to. They try and explain what love is, and though it fails, there is some truth to it:

"Love, love is a verb
Love is a doing word
Fearless on my breath..."

I can never get enough of this song. They've written what they know, and what they see is the actions that are love put into motion. There is a greater Love that even God's Word doesn't fully describe, not to our puny minds' understanding. I can't imagine what that day will be like. But I look forward to it with joy and fear.

Jesus loves you no matter what! Thats why we need a relationship with the Holy Spirit, in order to walk with Him. Jesus said- My Grace is sufficient for you. so my dear one...Yield on your beloved Savior & He will lead you to green pastures and the Still water!....
@Groot19 Thank you, sis.

@KayraJordyn My favorite part of this passage is that Paul spent the first 2 chapters of Philippians telling the believers at Philippi how to live, in fact, how to be perfect in Christ. I find those two chapters extremely intimidating, especially the passage in chapter 2 about following Christ example by being humble and putting others needs before your own. Chapter 3 is a breath of fresh air, because Paul says, that in spite of everything he has just said, that even he falls short. However, he also says that he doesn't use that as an excuse to quit trying. It is a powerful example of how Grace allows us to be human and to fail, even continually, as long as we never stop trying to follow the example.
Beautifully said! Thank you for sharing. :)
This is exactly where I am at!! I’m so happy you posted this!!
Wow, that's a cool surprise, @Quoththeraven. We should start a club called His Misfits. Or something far less creepy. 😳😂
@KayraJordyn yes that would be appropriate 😂😉
For here, surely, @Quoththeraven.

@Goralski and turn to God, from evil.

From that time Jesus began to preach his message: “Turn away from your sins, because the Kingdom of heaven is near!” (Matthew 4:17)

You will never succeed in life if you try to hide your sins. Confess them and give them up; then God will show mercy to you. (Proverbs 28:13)

Repent, then, of this evil plan of yours, and pray to the Lord that he will forgive you for thinking such a thing as this. (Acts 8:22)

Do those things that will show that you have turned from your sins. (Matthew 3:8)

Repent, then, and turn to God, so that he will forgive your sins. (Acts 3:19)
