I Admire My Mother
My mother always told me because you are a female and a minority you are always going to have to try harder in everything you do. She taught me to grow inward. She taught me to be strong but also scared. To see the world behind a bullet proof glass. My father on the other hand always believed I was capable to do anything I wanted. He taught me to grow outwards. That there wasnt any shame of being who I was. To let my confidence overflow. To be full of possibilities. If I knew who I was and applied myself. There shouldnt be anything that would stop me from progressing in my life and career. Well, I wished I listened to my mother more. Maybe i wouldnt have experienced so much pain if i was behind a bullet proof glass. She knew the trails females went through I guess these are lesson you are only meant to learn alone. Just because my father said I was an equal. It didn't mean society did.
