As I prepare to lay down for thee,
I hope my bro saw my loyalty,
I hope that honor will guide for me,
A path to light and heaven's keep,
From the darkness I hope to rise,
May my sacrifice open others' eyes,
To stop the cycle so kids can grow,
To be a voice for truth to flow,
To be a strength when they are weak,
Erase false pride and keep the peace,
I hope they all shall live the dream,
Not the nightmare that'll make them scream,
I gave myself and took a slap,
And all I wanted was to hear a clap,
For I was lost and wanted to be found,
Tell me is my cry a familiar sound?
Too late to cry, I must soldier on,
To the beat of the drum that plays my song,
You said for life I'd walk with thee,
My bro till the end walked away from me.
