SO WE CARRY ON

As we enter the world, vulnerabilities showing,
Parents kiss our faces, our rosy cheeks glowing.
Cocooned in the warmth, still free from the strife,
Wrapped up in simplicities of our care-free life.

A kaleidoscope of emotions, begin like a worm,
Experiences traumatic, as they wriggle and squirm.
But our hearts beat on, like the military drumming,
And summer turns to autumn, as the bees stop humming.

Symmetry of days, now stretches over years,
Same old thing, feasting merrily on our fears.
Despair and depression and melancholy wails,
Through storm-clouds and rainbows, hope still prevails.

So we carry on…
