I Love Poetry

The Jigsaw

When I met you those years ago,
How could I possibly know,
That our love would stand the test of time,
And continue to ever grow.

You gave me a picture on the front,
My view for when I awake.
Four corners of the vision there,
To provide the strengthening stake.

The edges placed so carefully,
Skilled hands they made that frame.
Any troubled insecurities felt,
They nurtured….rendered tame.

Piecing bits together seemed,
So effortless to you.
And as the jigsaw came together,
Our love just grew and grew.

When other people interfered,
Sat down at the puzzle table.
Threatened to disrupt the harmony,
We joined more, to make it stable.

The challenge of the wobbly edges,
Just made our story longer.
And what was once inside a box,
Has breathed, becoming stronger.

From beginning to completion,
I am grateful it was found.
Right there upon the shelf of life,
Now completed safe and sound.
