Why are Ray Ban sunglasses so expensive ugh???

because of a couple of reasons - the price you pay will make you take care of them better and they are good I think they use real glass and the coating is not crap - they are your eyes - so consider the alternative. I have Maui Jim and I dont want more UV light getting in my eyes than necessary

The company that owns them Luxottica has cornered the market on glasses and can charge what they want

Ray Bans are owned by an Italian company called Luxottica. They are the worlds largest (and nearly) only maker of eyeglasses in the world.
Ray Ban cost so much because Luxottica decided to make them high end. Took them off the shelves for over 1 year then rebranded them as "high end".
