I Am Enjoying Being A Muslim

To all people of other faiths/beliefs who seek after the truth, I invite you to read the Quran with pure heart, free from prejudices and true intention to follow the right path to our Lord.

I have learned that one should say "Peace!" to those who shout their hatred for one's being and presence or at one's passage. Religion is never more tested than when our emotions are ablaze. At such a time, the timeless grandeur of the Law and its ethics stand at our mercy.

Islam taught me that it takes all of the religious, political, economic, psychological, and racial ingredients, or characteristics, to make the Human Family and the Human Society complete. More than 1.6 billion of world's population are Muslims. We follow the teachings of the Prophet Mohammed (may peace be upon him). We are members of the brotherhood of Islam in which all are equal in rights, dignity and self-respect. Consequently, we have a special and a very deep sense of unity.

The Quran sought to reform, not to destroy and start from scratch, to salvage what was useful and then to modify and build on it. The task was to get the people to think about religion in a novel way, to inculcate in them a new conceptual frame of reference, to transfer them from one worldview to another, and higher, one. This process of transformation took them from traditionalism to individualism, from impulsiveness to discipline, from supernaturalism to science, from intuition to conscious reasoning and, in the end, ideally, harmonized the whole.

Is this a question?
@Madeleine: you are inviting us to read your bible why are you hoping it will change peoples minds and change to your religion so why dont you read our bible are you scared that you may see the truth that our god is real and yours is fake
Madeleine · 41-45, F
@nevergiveup: Respectfully, this was an invitation to read the Quran, which I believe is the word of God. My goal is to build bridges, not to divide.

I did read the Bible if this is what you are asking.

Thank you for your comment.
@Madeleine: if you have read the bible then you must see that our god is the one true god and you are worshiping the wrong god
Madeleine · 41-45, F
@nevergiveup: Have you read the Quran sir?
@Madeleine: i dont need to i know what i believe is right and i will go to heaven. You wont
Madeleine · 41-45, F
@nevergiveup: What do you believe?
i believe that all people should be allowed to worship there god. I dont care what it is but i do care when a religion takes up arms and starts to kill people in there gods name. Tell me how many wars and conflicts are there in the world that involve Christianity. How many are there that involve your religion. Some of you condemn them and say they do not represent us but it is still your religion.
Madeleine · 41-45, F
@nevergiveup: In order to judge a religion, we must look at its source. The main source of Islam is the Quran, and in the Quran, clearly God forbade killing innocent people.

Also, respectfully, your statement is not accurate. History testifies that wars and killing were done in the name of Christianity, perhaps even worse than the ones that were done in the name of Islam. However, I understand that those actions were done by people, and they are not taken from the Bible nor from the Quran.

What I asked you about is your belief. What makes you so sure that you will go to heaven and I will be deprived from it?
i will say one last thing in the UK where i live we have opened our arms to your people and welcomed you. We have given you homes we have given you food we have given you money we have given you jobs we have given you schools. All of this i am happy to give to your people. I draw the line when your holy men or what ever you call them stand on the streets of MY country and say that my people are devils and evil and should be killed. If we are evil then why are you here. i am not raciest but you have to see my point
yes Christianity had holy wars and i do agree with you but that was hundreds of years ago. We have moved on and evolved. All that has evolved in your religion is new weapons to kill more people
Madeleine · 41-45, F
@nevergiveup: I understand your point sir. However, what do you mean by "my people"? Islam is not a race. There are original white British people who are Muslims. Besides, yes, the UK is one of the countries that open doors for many people of other nationalities to build careers and live there, which I find respectful, but nothing is for free. The UK is also benefiting from those who come to work there, it's all economical matter, not charity. Moreover, there are many British citizens who work abroad and live in Muslim countries, so it's a give and take situation.

As I mentioned previously that the Quran forbids killing innocent people, so I don't defend anyone (whether Muslim or not) who promotes killing or violence. Also, there some groups so-called-Muslims and people of other faiths who do evil actions, but we should never dismiss the killing that is done by governments that throw bombs and kill families at once. We blame the killers, but who manufactures those weapons and sell them? (so again, economy).

Killing that is done in the name of Christianity is not something from the past. In the 20th century, the Holocaust was done in the name of Christianity. The genocide of the Catholic Nazi state in Croatia in WW2. Christian Arabs carried out appalling massacres in the 1970s-80s Lebanon War, including the Sabra and Shatila massacre of 1982. 1990s Serb Orthodox genocide. And late 20th century Protestant death squads in Ireland.. and much more.

However, this is not an answer to my question. What will take you to heaven?

@Madeleine: The holocaust was done in the name of christianity? How did you come to that conclusion?
Madeleine · 41-45, F
@pianoplayingsteve: Hitler was Christian.
pianoplayingsteve · 31-35, M
@Madeleine: Again, you say it was done in the name of christianity, from what work or saying of Jesus was the holocaust justified?
pianoplayingsteve · 31-35, M
@Madeleine: What is a historical fact however is that the grand mufti of Jerusalem enlisted thousands of Muslims into Hitler's ranks with the aim of killing Jews. http://www.jewishjournal.com/images/made/bf20ff0b6dded448/opi_hilter-mufti_102115_539_332_c1.jpg
Madeleine · 41-45, F
@pianoplayingsteve: It doesn't have to come from the Bible if some crazy person decides to kill in the name of his religion, and in this case Christianity.

The same logic goes for crazy so-called-Muslims who commit crimes in the name of Islam. They don't take that from the Quran, yet people accuse Islam of being violent.

Stop your double standards!

Where did I get that holocaust was done in the name of Christianity?
It's from Wikipedia:

pianoplayingsteve · 31-35, M
@Madeleine: So, Hitler killed millions whilst Jesus didn't, but he did it based on Christianity. You claim that is based on christianity, whilst muslims killing in the same disgusting manner that muhammed did isn't islamic. YOU are the one with double standards. Jesus killed no one, Muhammed killed thousands, I'm sorry to say but those are the facts.
Madeleine · 41-45, F
@pianoplayingsteve: No, I respectfully disagree.

1. I did not claim that Hitler followed Jesus (peace be upon him) in this regard, but he was Christian and killed the Jews, just because they were Jews.

2. I'm Muslim and I follow the teachings of both Jesus and Muhammad (peace be upon them) and they both came with the same message.

3. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) never slaughtered people like animals, burn them, or ordered his companions to kill themselves in order to kill others. He never broke homes and places of worship. The "thousands" of people you claimed that he "killed" (even though the number is way lower than this) was during wars.. which means killing was done on both sides. So please get your facts right.

4. Those groups who claim to kill in the name of Islam.. kill Muslims more than others. What Islamic teaching justify that?

When a Christian claims to kill in the name of Christianity, you say that he is not following the Bible, but when a Muslim claims to kill in the name of Islam, you say that he is following the Quran. Double Standards!
