I Remember Physical Education In Vest And Pants [I Hated Physical Education Class]

At my secondary school, there was box of lost kit which you could rummage through if you had forgotten your PE clothes. While I was grateful for the loan of the occasional pair of shorts, I drew the line at wearing someone else's shoes 😒 So I often did the lesson in bare feet, even if it was outdoors.

We had to do all indoor PE in bare feet anyway, so that wouldn't have bothered me. I once did outdoor athletics without shoes. It was a but strange, but quite nice on the grass.

I totally agree there were often items in the spare kit box that very few would choose to wear, either through cleanliness or lack of modesty. But thinking back wearing something in an emergency was often better than wearing nothing and the consequences.

I did all my PE lessons barefoot my choice though, I was mostly a good girl and remembered my kit though.

@BarefootLouise That's true 🙂 We only did cross country like once a year and I used to get absolutely drenched and had to change everything afterwards, even my bra and knickers 😄

@QuietSophie Oh wow! That's bad, we did one every other week right through the year, no water crossings luckily enough. I ran wearing a running vest and running knickers with bare feet.

We didn't have a lost property box of kit or footwear for PE at school when I was at school. Not sure I'd have wanted to wear other kit though, so I made sure I always had mine. Footwear was a different matter. For inside PE it was choice, footwear or bare feet. I and many of my friends opted for bare feet😀

The lost property box was fine for shorts and tees, but indoor p e was fine in bare feet anyway....
