I Have Done Things I Am Not Proud of

I lived a double life for about a year, I had met my Now fiancé and we began dating, but I couldn't tell my family or work I live in very rural area and worked in construction, not a very open minded enviroment as you can imagine. So instead I tried to juggle two lives in two different parts of the U.K., working a full time job and looking after my parents who are both ill in England, and traveling down to my Partner in Wales whenever I could.
It was too much for me to handle, and my life began to unravel quickly. I sank into debt trying to commute, working night shifts and dayshift in dangerous construction jobs just to make ends meet. I lied to everyone about where I was going, constantly altering dates and times in order to try and make an impossible situation work, and please everybody. I missed very important Birthdays, cancelled holidays planned long in advance, blew of work compleatly with no notice given, and once even left the England with no indication of where I was or what I was doing, something that upset my family and friends a great deal.
I do regret what I did greatly, I was a coward and a fool, trying to please everyone and only causing hurt. Everything is out in the open now, and for that I'm thankful, it's an episode of my life I don't like to dwell on too much.

Its so weird how I'm living that way now... Being a college student and working but my other life is talking to my fiancé who my parents do not even know about

Its not an easy thing to manage, but it can be done. Just remember that if you are ever overwhelmed by it all its ok, you can always find a way through to the other side. How do think your parents would react if you told them you're engaged?

They wouldn't except it. I'm already overwhelmed by it because we want live together already but I have to hide it from my parents

Are they accepting of your partner now?

Not really, it's something I think we all just pretend isn't happening when I go to visit them, but I hold no ill will against them for it. I'm just happy that I found the courage to make a choice.
