Kids should be barefoot all summer! [I Like to Be Barefoot]

For me summer meant no school and no shoes unless absolutely necessary. This weekend I saw something that seemed weird and confusing. I noticed an early teen young girl in her yard with a showering sprinkler flower creating a wide spread mist in the yard. The girl was wearing a bathing suit and (I had to look twice.) white socks as she soaked up the mist. When I was young wearing socks with a bathing suit would be the ultimate fashion disaster, not to mention the disgusting feeling of wearing heavily soaked socks as you enjoyed the water. Are foot phobias taking over? This was not the way to enjoy cooling off under a spray of water and running through the grass. I'm all for wearing what you like, but this is crazy.

Did you know the girl personally ? I’m diabetic, and a friend whose child has type 1 diabetes has to protect her feet, which means she can’t go barefoot like other kids. Just suggesting that might be a reason for something so extreme. You speak of “foot phobia” but folks are so caught up in their foot [b]fetishes[/b] nowadays they don’t consider any other possibility.

In high school during summer I wore short shorts and my feet were bare.I have an IDGAF attitude.I got vast amounts of compliments.
I'm barefooted always now.

Whenever I go to an outdoor concert or any type of festival, I have to be barefoot. Today I see lots of young people with socks and flip-flops. Complete fashion nightmare.
