Coal is never going to be what it was again.
Obama's "war on coal" is a myth, jobs in the industry disappeared to automation and competition from natural gas.
Politicians cannot save Coal from what's coming, the disruption is going to be enormous. I know America was built on Coal and we're basically ripping out the spine of the country but it's being done. We're moving on to Natural Gas and soon Solar and Wind will be even cheaper than natural gas.
Solar and wind are growing like weeds and many Coal plants are being closed and replaced with Natural gas because it makes economic sense to switch to natural gas.
Automation also took many jobs. Robots are doing most of the Coal mining work.
