I Have Worn A Very Short Skirt

I always look back with some amusement these days in the battles we had with that teachers over the length of our school skirts. It was a sort of game we played just to see how short we could make them and get away with it. I can remember being put in detention and getting the slipper off form mistresses because I had made my skirt too short by rolling it at the waist. I along with a dozen others also got caned of by the head on one occasion our skirts failed her inspection - the price of fashion! Yet we continued to play the game!
Looking back it was a fairly harmless form of teenage rebellion. Teenagers need something to rebel against and school uniform was one of them. I'm glad the school tried to enforce the rules because while we were busy trying to break rules that didn't matter that much we were keeping those that did.
