I Like Poetry

It could be proposed that our will to survive and prosper is driven by our desire to decrease unneccasary suffering in our lives which seems only logical. But i like this, for it addresses the ever restless quest that we all undertake as human beings. To be driven by our suffering to not only escape it, but to surpass it and find meaning in that. We will always be searching for happiness, and it will be something we will chase eternally. It is at the core of almost anything we do, unless we've become so imbittered that we lose all hope, but even then that is in reaction to the loss of meaning.
At least that's one take on it.

O man, take care!
What does the deep midnight declare?
"I was asleep—
From a deep dream I woke and swear:—
The world is deep,
Deeper than day had been aware.
Deep is its woe—
Joy—deeper yet than agony:
Woe implores: Go!
But all joy wants eternity—
Wants deep, wants deep eternity."
