I'd Rather Stay Home Alone Than Going Out

I am an introvert. I am going to be dragged to a party Saturday. Then I'm going to be accused of refusing to have fun and refusing to live a life. Then I'm going to think that they could have invited someone else or gone by themselves, so they brought this on themselves. I guess I'll just skate around the rink for a few hours and that's it. Inviting me to a party is the quickest way to kill me.

I've always been like you, but there is nothing wrong with that, don't label yourself some of us are not into that type of scene. I think i can count the times i have been to a club in my life and i am 41.people tell me your crazy you I've in NYC and don't go clubbing? I respond by saying i don't like that type off scene guys go there to pick up women and to dance dirty and there are too many fights..blahhh i rather hang out with friends at home thats more fun.

Nothing wrong with not wanting to waste time and money on something you're likely not going to enjoy anyway. Peer pressure should be outlawed when consciously inflicted upon other people.

My mother wants me to go to the party because the young lady graduated the same year at the same high school as I did, so we may know each other. She wants me to open up and socialize. I already know this is a failure because this isn't the first party I've been to. I think I will also bring a book with me.

Mothers... I know they mean well, but sometimes they act as if they barely even know their children. Books are better company than drunkards in my experience - though if you need a somewhat sober person to talk to, my inbox is always open.
