People usually seem to look at me as if I'm wasting my youthfulness being who I am: an introvert who minds her business and isn't particularly all that interested in insincere, meaningless connection. I saw all too soon how many people really are and how impermanent all relationships are regardless of history.

If someone spends an entire lifetime learning and loving him or herself, was it really "wasted", considering most people go to their graves everyday having tried to be everything to everyone around them in order to "earn" love and approval from people who too are secretly miserable and self-loathing?

It's because the vast majority of what we are brought to believe is nothing but lies anyway

Exactly my outlook on life now 👍🏻 Expect the worst from people/life in general and it makes those good moments shine that much brighter.
