I belong to a Facebook group for German Shepherd Owners [I Love German Shepherd Dogs]

So many people have problems with these dogs Why? They don’t know how to lead strong dogs.

In my experience with GSDs (rescuing, fostering, rehabilitating, etc), there's generally two types of problematic people who buy them: 1) the people who treat a high-drive working breed like a cute or tough accessory dog and never give it mental stimulation, and 2) the guys who buy them because they're strong and "tough" and get a thrill from their dog acting aggressively.

My experience is usually with the first type. People at the dog park who bought a GSD as their first dog not knowing what they were getting into, never train it, never give it a job, and now it has aggression issues or gets too intense with other animals.

There's nothing wrong with any breed of dog. Only the owners. I have a rescued working line GSD with a plethora of behavioral issues because she belonged to the second type of person I mentioned before, but she's a work in progress. I also have an APBT/GSD that I adopted as a puppy who's the sweetest, calmest dog on the planet. Just like any breed of dog, it's all about finding the right owners who are willing to put in the work.
Mine is a high drive working line German Shepherd. I have given her the job of guarding our backyard, I have never seen a dog so happy to please she literally bounces in front of me. And she is the sweetest calmest dog. Training is a constant for life, people think they can send a dog off for training and be done with it. They also don't realize neglect. They don't realize every single thing they do is teaching either positive or negative. Thank you very much for responding. And yes, its about dedication and forging a relationship with your Dog, put in the work :)@BigAssLeech
