I still have 3 tawses now. 1 replica and 2 “borrowed “ from teachers drawers after the ban. I was quite proficient at using at just the right level on several willing partners in the past. But I guess the perennial fascination in the east Scotland area is fading as the cultural experience dies out. I suspect if I showed a date a tawse now it would provoke an “OMG” rather than the “ Ooo? “ it used to.

NO at home it as mum laying on a heavy domestic belt. Prior girlfriend’s mum was an English teacher and she confided that the tawse was brought home and used for domestic discipline. But not on the hands. The conversation came up as I comforted her having witnessed her being hand strapped in class with several others by her own mother! for not submitting homework. She clearly said the 2 hand strokes were more painful but that there was more strokes on the behind . Those teacher mothers showed no favoritism
