I think you're exactly right.

You can't love without expecting. That's the problem.

If that were possible then there would be no heartbreaks at all and there would be no love either.

@Beatbox34 so I guess u aren’t talking about unconditional or pure love in which you give without expecting anything in return. You’re saying that no such thing exists? You may be right. People are naturally self concerned and wanting returns for whatever they do. So than can only blame theirself when a relationship didn’t profit them what they wanted when ideally love is supposed to be giving.

I do think parental love is unconditional. I don’t expect anything from my children. But that’s whole different topic really

@Awlmad Unconditional love exists BUT let's say you love someone and you keep making efforts as if you're doing to a wall. You may not expect to want materialistic stuff in return but I'm sure you would expect to be loved in return, you would expect to be valued in return or even expect to be a part of their lives.

@Beatbox34 Not always

That's really sweet, but I was reading the comments, and unconditional love is the biggest crock of bullshit ever lol. It doesn't exist
Beatbox34 · 31-35, M
@SW-User Well said

@Beatbox34 Anyway it IS the expectation that causes the disappointment. You can’t argue that can you?
Beatbox34 · 31-35, M
@Awlmad To some extent expectation hurts. But it's more than just that.
