I respect your parents for dealing with the police trouble their own way. If all boys wore short trousers until at least 14 the world would a better place. Wearing long trousers from age 10 must of encouraged bad attitude. You talk about going back into short trousers at 13 as intense embarrassment but really the only embarrassment was getting into trouble with the police.
I like to think I would deal with the situation the way your parents did. However in reality a boy under my charge would already be wearing short trousers long before he misbehaved.

If this refers to the person who posted the title story then I think you are being unnecessarily charitable to those who at that time would complain about being unwilling parents. Condoms have been easily available for considerably longer than he has been alive and the pill was available on the NHS from 1961.

@ArishMell I was raised in Saskatchewan Canada in a french-speaking and catholic family and I suppose that my parents never used the anticonceptional pill which dididn't exist at that time, I learned that the only method authorized by the Church to birth contol was the Ogino-Knauss method known as the thermometer method.
