He's the only one that over the 2 games has consistently played at the top level of his abilities....the other's haven't....I'm a little worried that we'll be a bit lacklustre, y'know? On paper, we should do what Denmark did to Russia last night....

You're right. Most of the players are underperforming. The team looks clueless in attack. Give this team to a top-class manager, and they can win anything. Many might disagree with this, but I don't think France or Italy have better players than England. Look at how they are playing, and then look at England.

@LookingForTheSummer Hmmmmm....down to attitude, I think. I always rate Italy and was very surprised that nobody was talking about them...and they were revelling in that underdog stage....France? They have - mostly - had that confidence and that swagger....

England, however, we suffer from the whole confidence thing....we don't do 'pressure of the nation' very well....we work better when we're underdogs, which is what the nation and media never really thinks about....

Reverse psychology; if we start the next competition and just the whole country slags off the team...and we might just win the bleedin' thing!

@adorbz I'm not sure if that is true... but if it's true, then it probably has to do with the VAR. Because in the old days when the flag got raised they would just stop the action. Now they let it continue and then watch if the line guy is right, because in the old days the flag might be raised and there would be no offside due to human error.

I'm okay with it.
