@Kwek00 On a serious note, it was a good start for your boys. You were right about Carrasco playing well. Russia was pretty poor mind.

@Burnley123 2nd half was terrible... so much lost balls by inaccurate passes. If you do this against France, you are out.

Also, the first 15 minutes, Russia was just better.

We get into the game, because we punish the first mistake. And the defense didn't protect Meunier who can pick up the rebound. Could have been 3-0 in the first half, Den Doncker got a big chance but shoots it high over.

Thielemans lost a lot of balls that could have been punished. Boyata made mistakes. I didn't think Mertens was in the game. Thorgan Hazard also did some really weird things.

Carrasco played well and Lukaku played well. And Castagne was actually also playing well, but his tournament is over. Double fracture, so he needs surgery.

@Kwek00 I think you are being harsh. The much-criticised defence looked solid and Meunier (who I don't really rate) had a good game.

Belgium looked the most dangerous side even in the second half. I think you will win the group pretty easily.

@Burnley123 Meunier played well, that is true. I had to include him.
Mostly because Russia was really bad. They were also really inaccurate when it comes to passing. And they are hoping on 1 guy who had a couple of opportunities but not a lot because of the defense. But if you play with the same inaccurate passes against a team that has a quick counter, we'll have serious issues.

I just hope that Kevin is ready for the "more" important games. And in the 20 minutes Hazzard played, he had 1 good dribble... I hope he can push that a bit up. I'm glad Vermaelen seems okay in the back.

Well, with what we have on paper, this team is supposed to win this group. They of course still have to do it, but on paper this is just the better team. But these guys aren't here to win the group, they want to get into the finals, and to do that they will have to get sharper.

@Kwek00 For sure, greater tests lay ahead. Castagne is a loss. He has been good for Leicester. You have to hope Meunier stays fit and keeps playing well.

@Burnley123 The tactic was to keep Meunier also for the "more" important matches.

The first half, I have to also give honor to Jan Verthongen. And also in the first 15 minutes of the first half, he was trying to wake the guys up. His game wan't great, but it was above average and he was constantly pushing the younger guys to get their head into the game. I'm not his biggest fan, but he does a lot of work in the locker room too.

I don't think any of our guys can do that... which is one of our biggest problems. That's why we need more accuracy and more offense with ball possesion.
