I Love Trees

[c=#1F5E00]THE TREE WITH A HUMAN HEART[/c]
Near my home is a river. And along that river winds a path. And just a few steps off that path but largely hidden by brush is a tree. It's a very old tree and it has seen better days but it still explodes with green every spring. Inside the old hollowed out trunk, near the bottom, there is a curious growth of wood that looks remarkably like a human heart.

In my mind I like to believe that this tree is the lifeblood of the land that surrounds it. It's heart beats away when the eyes of man are not looking upon it, pumping life into every blade of grass, into the river, into the very soil itself.
Nature is fascinating and I love the way you think about it, the way you see it and talk about it. I love trees ... they are wonderful creatures and have their own magic.... whenever I walk in the forest, I imagine what we would hear the trees say if we were able to understand their language.... they would tell us about the big and small miracles that happen every time around them, about all they have experienced and seen over the centuries of their life... they are wise creatures, no matter how old or young they are... their roots hold the earth together while at the same time their branches touch the sky... and I imagine them singing their own song

I count the days restlessly in spring
and feel how life awakens anew in me.
I am proud when I bear the first blossoms,
which the sun makes into new fruits again soon.

I catch the sun's rays in summer
and some lay their tired head to rest next to me.
When my leaves paint shadow pictures in the meadow
they sing in the wind and I listen to their songs.

I let myself be bent by the storms in autumn
and give this world the most beautiful colors.
See my leaves flying high in the wind
knowing their joy makes parting easier.

I carry snow on my branches in winter
and feel the eternity in many a quiet moment.
I gather new strength in my silence
only to give it back a thousandfold soon.

I give the birds their home.
and the bees their food.
Who comes to me does not make his journey in vain.
I need the earth, air and light.
And until my last branch breaks
I am the tree of life for all.

Really, really great!!
@Loretta78 Thank you :) I had to think long and hard on whether or not I wanted to post this because it's actually quite personal to me. It's something I've kept to myself for years. But your enthusiasm confirms to me that this is something best shared.
