I believe alien lifeforms exist, but I don't think anything about TRAPPIST-1 implies aliens trying to reach out to us.
The closest thing to that is the Wow! Signal, and it not being repeated would seem to imply that if it was indeed aliens then it was purely a completely random catch by one of our instruments just happening to point at the right point in the sky at the right time.
