I Hate When Good Things End

ENDS
by: RobPaquin

And there within the morning breeze
That shook the flowers and the trees
The answer stood still for him to see
An answer of finality

It spoke of things filled with shame
It spoke of all the inner pain
It spoke of all the hundred claims
That hurled at him - Curse and Blame

And there within the mirror ; True
He saw no color and no hue
Just a rainbow filled with black & blue
That sat behind his gazeless view

And on his road he found the trail
that led to his historic fail
And with his blood did he prevail
Upon his everlasting wails

And with a sullen head to nod
With all his doubt that did prod
He felt bereft of his God
Heart uncaring, Soul at odds

Then there within the answer found
Hearts cry out without a sound
And without another soul around
The final act bore him to the ground

So with his dying plea he laughed
At all his better moments past
The man who himself outcast
Had found his peaceful end at last.

For Chad. A literary mastermind. And though I wrote this sometime ago, I send it out to him as he journeys into the afterlife.

He was a hero of sorts to me for quite a long time and his passing, while regrettable, was not so surprising to me. Kudos to him for fighting long enough to make sure those around him could support themselves with ease.

Depression isn't easy.
