@Emosaur They honoured Jesus long before the Easter name was adopted. This day is only called Easter on the Germanic speaking countries. In most other countries the original name of Pascha is used. The traditions are all the same.

@Qwerty14 Easter, as the vernal equinox, was celebrated well before anyone thought of Jesus. It's a Pagan festival adopted by the christians just as other Pagan festivals were.

@NortiusMaximus Ever look at how they celebrated the vernal equinox? You'll notice none of those practises are still done today. The Romans basically gutted all the pagan shit out of the holiday and replaced it with the Christian stuff. All that remains are names mostly.
