How long do you keep answering questions from a person?

Older men are held by many in such low esteem on here that I almost expect a downright negative comment from younger female posters by default. Younger males I find to be generally more accepting of my olde world viewpoints but I'm still surprised if any meaningful exchange takes place. My peers I rarely talk to. I live in a housing community where you have to be at least 50 to buy a house so get all the adult chat I could possible want offline.
My rule of thumb would probably be not to expect a response at all and just move on to the next post, and if any responses/hearts do come in just keep half an eye out for that poster in future.

I end up ignoring them if that's the case. It gets tiresome when you take the time to answer a post and the person just ignores you.

I don't tolerate that well. So, it'll be over rather quickly with me for sure :)
