Will we ever recognize that our teachers should be paid as much if not more than entertainers?!!!!

Teaching should be a highly respected job you need a decent amount of education to earn with great salary and benefits. It should be an aspiration, not a personal sacrifice where you give up getting a good job because you like kids. Like, if entire states are going on illegal strikes, you know there's a MAJOR problem with the profession.

we could definitely pay them alot more if we cut out alot of government waste and providing foreign aid to countries who hate us.

Until Americans value education the same way as countries like Singapore, Korea, and Japan... our education system will continue to crumble. And it's not just the pay. It's the working conditions and most of all the respect and support from everyone. Teachers should be respected and compensated for having the most important and difficult task of all...educating our future leaders. Problem is, people want something for nothing.

If you want teachers to be paid as much as entertainers then Private Eyes the whole education industry and remove all government money, influence, and regulation. Then schools and by extension teachers will have to compete for the money parents pay to have their children educated.

The average salary for a teacher in the US is $56,000. And most teachers don't work 12 months of the year. $56,000 prorated out to 12 months is over $70,000. They're making $70,000 per year and the schools sucks. They're making too much.

Our nation would be so much better off if we valued real learning & those who made this possible. Have students learn, not just memorize for testing.
