I Enjoy Meaningful Conversations

I always loved speaking with people who are intelligent and think outside of the box. Someone who is open minded and has some depth. Why is that so hard to find online these days LOL I guess when people come online, maybe they want to escape the day to day stresses and get lost in a fantasy? I guess for me, that would be nice but...it's not lasting or meaningful. I love meeting people that leave lasting impressions or get me to think about things maybe I hadn't thought of before.

Amen to that. I feel the same way. If people don't want to talk about work you don't have to but I don't see the point of just saying pointless things. I think it's nice to challenge you mind when you talk to anyone. Not just give one word answers.... let me ask you this one of my pet peeves is when someone's answer to something is almost always lol or something along those lines. You might be having a normal conversation and all of a sudden there response is lol even where it's not funny and your just asking them a question.

Yes I agree. Most of the time I'm here to distract myself from the pain in my life tho not really successful in doing so. I guess deep down am looking for connection. But not just someone to talk serious to. Because that can be depressing. Someone that also shares the same sense of humor because comic relief is needed sometimes. I always try to respond to the more serious posts in hope of finding that person.

I agree!

I agree: but I have indeed met a few with whom I have had engaging conversations and ongoing cyber-relations of various types.

Lovely words. I feel very much the same.

What you wrote really just spoke to me.....I do not like the one word response. .. like a deep and meaningful conversation one that engages. ....the one that when you are talking online and you see that you have a message ....your heart leaps .....and you can not wait to see what was said

Yes indeed.

I can name a few..say 10..20 tops, that could stand their ground and deliver meaningful conversation/I've seen them in action
me personally..I am shallow and struggle to keep up
And when you say it all like now, it maybe leaves us speechless. I can't see any way to expand upon your insights at this time. But I like the way you think.

Perhaps SW can come up with some kind of rating we could give each other for meaningfulness. On the flip side, points for being a complete plankton. Not sure how I would rate.

There's an app called Wakie that you rate the conversations you have with each user. But it's voip . I was in it once and used to say , I refuse to talk to anyone below 4 stars! Haha (maybe I'm a star snob)

Whats something you want to talk about
TenderHeart · 46-50, F
@Hutchman: yeah but a lot of people say they're fine when they're not lol
Hutchman · 41-45, M
Yes! I know! I am learning to be more real. It's the feeling inside we are missing ☺
TenderHeart · 46-50, F
@Hutchman: agreed :)
