My friend used to make pancit and I loved it, Mars. She told me about balut (sp?) and I was hell no. No worries, I'll save up enough money for both of us to fly to the Phillipines. I'll only have enough left for one room, though. So we'll need to share.

Are you a Filipina then, Mars? That's another country I want to visit. I had a friend who spoke Tagalog and I found it very easy to pick up because it's so similar to Spanish.

Yes, I am Lance. I revealed it on a post here last night. Lol. It is easier to pick up because some words are similar. My first language is English, but I can still speak Tagalog. I'm about 70% fluent in speaking, but I need to mix it with English, so it becomes Tagalish. Haha...

The Philippines is a poor country, but a great & inexpensive place to visit. The flight will be the most expensive for you, especially if you're Stateside on the east coast.

Have you tried Filipino food then? It's not as popular as other Asian cuisine, but still very tasty.

You spelled pancit & balut correctly. Good for you! Haha. I love how they use balut on an eating challenge on shows here like Survivor & Fear Factor. Not that I'm crazy about it, but I would totally win those challenges hands down. Lol.

Ok. I'm game. I haven't been to the Philippines since 1995, so I'm due for a visit. As for sharing a room, I'm fine with it. Maybe we can get a room with 2 single beds. Lol. But we have to go dancing for sure, so I hope you like dancing. :P

Having grown up in Toronto, I had to study French until high school. Now being in the US & teaching ESL to a lot of Hispanic students, it's actually easier for me to understand Spanish than French. Plus Spanish has some similar words to Tagalog.
