I Like Helping People Less Fortunate

One of the things I take pleasure in life is helping under privileged people with all my heart. but before I care about some random individual on the street, I must make sure my family members are leading a successful life because charity begins at home.
Many make the mistake of neglecting their family and friends and pat themselves on the back for donating to some charity. That is not wrong but we must help those we care about First before lending a helping hand to strangers.

thats pretty true. i gotta sister who did alot for charity but i always thought she was rude to my father an ude to my family. she would do anything to help others but took her family for granted. thankfully we all get along now but its something that i remebered. I gotta borther that does laods for charity which i respect an admire. but i think he could do so much more 2 help my dad who is elderly. u r right, charity does start at home

You make a valid point. Many great men in history neglected their own families while "helping" the world. Gandhi was one...John Adams another, and even The Buddha.

When I worked in DC, I would give homelss people money. The guys I worked with would call me stupid, " He will just go buy booze with it. " wasn't any of my business what he did with it, if he needed to drink then go for it, I didn't care. Sometimes the guy would need to get bombed to deal with his life. Have bought a couple old guys a lunch at a place called Lunchbox. People would think I was crazy. Don't understand why people judge less fortunate like they do. " There but for the Grace of God go I."
@Carissimi thank you dear.My opinion is that whether men or women, taking care of the family is the primary duty. Leaving your offspring and spouse in the street while your heart bleeds for others is not a sensible thing!
@widower thanks dear for freely sharing your life experiences. You enrich this site with your insights. keep it up😘
