Malia~ bad things happen to good people, we live in a fallen world, where sickness ,disease and accident happen on a daily basis, unfortuantely. If sin had not entered into the world everything would be great, no sickness, no disease, living to be a really old age, without infirmities. But the good news is that God is working to take us back to that condition. It may be many years yet, but it is promised. And the even better news is that if you are at peace with God, when you leave this world you will be reunited with your child.
This is ..oddly.. hard for me to answer. My initial response is, yes. Of course he does. God creates nothing that does not have a purpose. He created us to love and love him in return. And then that whole sin thing happened. And through corruption our intended purpose is grander - as in there are many more facets to it leading to the same end as was planned from the beginning. To the exile of Jerusalem God said, “ For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future” I like to assume that is something he has for all of us who have chosen to seek the lord with all of our hearts as well. And according to romans, all things work together for good. So My assumption is that wether we are opening ourselves to the plans of our lord, or not - there is a plan for our lives. But, we don’t always listen. And when we don’t seek God, that plan becomes terribly corrupted. so, still yes. There is a plan. But I do think it is important that we ask and seek the path the lord provides and trust that he will lead us down it. Because goodness knows, there is no clear exact map for what we ought to do in our lives. I’ve heard that our plan has to do with our talents, or gifts. What we are good at. I don’t know if there is any truth in that though.
I believe that God wants us to be more like him and to have compassion for all beings just as he did. He did not condemn those that were, what we would consider vile. He actually walked among them and all he asked was that they believed in his power and he granted miracles to all that were in need as long as they believed in his father. He showed compassion on those that would never show compassion to him. I believe that is what he expects of us as well.
This reminds me of the song "Imagine". Wouldn't it be wonderful to love instead of hate. I guess its our job to bring peace to the world, one step at a time.
Jonathan~ God is waiting for you with open arms, just like the prodigal son, e loves you with an everlasting love, and He is married to the backslider. However once you have turned your back on Him, you may have to walk by faith alone, not being able to feel His presence, as a chastisment for walking away. However the sooner you get started the quicker you will be back where you so desire.
Father God, I pray for Jonathan , asking you to forgive hi sins and draw him back into the fold, where his heart so longs to be. Watch over him, keep him safe, and establish his going out and coming in, once again. Amen & Amen
There is an interesting discussion here: some believe that God has a plan for us, and others believe that we determine our own destinies. There have been valiant defenders of both positions for several centuries now, but no decisive demonstration has been offered. I'm getting tired of waiting for a clear demonstration, so I follow my own internal signals. These favor peaceful solutions, and so I generally suggest and follow paths towards a clear peace and mutual understanding, rather than towards dispute, misunderstanding, deceit and war -- whenever that is possible. That solves by far most problems for me.
@cool2030 Hi. I just want to say that it sounds like you do believe in God, right? If you do, then wouldn’t it be reasonable to say that God didn’t leave heaven, just to come for a visit? That He had a purpose and a plan?
Twiddler~ I really do believe that this scripture is applicable to us today “ For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."Ministers use it all the time as a right now scripture. It brings comfort.
Sort of freedom~~ YES INDEED IT WOULD, AND YES AGAIN, IF EVERYONE DID WHAT EVERYONE COULD DO, WHAT A WONDERFUL WORLD THIS WOULD BE. GO FORTH IN THE JOY OF THE LORD!!!
Hi honey. As we can see in Genesis, God created man. He didn’t create man, so he could die. We were originally meant to live forever, however man rebelled against God, which brought about sin, which in turn, brought death to mankind. Sin was introduced into the world when Adam and Eve sinned. It became a part of their nature, and by the blood, carried to their offspring. What we’re seeing now, is a look at what this world is like with sin in it, which produces death, and shows us why we need Jesus. He’ll do away with all the sin in the world one day, so believers can live eternally in heaven with Him, where there will be no more sorrow or tears, and thankfully, no more death. He hasn’t come back to earth just yet, because He is giving everyone a chance to repent. He is not willing that any perish, but some don’t want anything to do with Him. That being their choice, there’s nothing He can do for them. He offers the free gift of salvation and forgiveness to all who will receive Him, but He’s not going to beg them. @MaliaAgain
There's no evidence to even suggest there is a God, the whole thing is a huge delusion caused by indoctronation, created by man to control other men. Its incredibly sad that people still fall for this in todays society.
