I Like to Help People [Helping Others]

I've read many posts recently from users who are suffering from depression or a deterioration in their mental well being. Depression can hit hard and sometimes it feels like there is no end in sight.

I know because I've been there. Too often people just accept it because the alternative, seeking professional help, is daunting. People believe that they will end up on medication for the rest of their lives.

This is not always the case. Anti-depressant or anti-psychotic medication can help stability but there are also other avenues. Counselling and support groups are great for getting an individual to talk about their issues.

These avenues can help a person create strategies for coping with difficult days and can help open up new opportunities.

So if you are suffering don't suffer alone. Dont be afraid to ask for help. Dont feel you need to face things on your own. Help is out there for anyone who needs it.

It is hard to seek help when you need it the most. I think that support groups can be very helpful if they is a high level of confidentiality.

I’ve always wonder if when you leave if they make fun of you!!!! I guess I’m just being paranoid or something but I have a hard time talking to a counselor about my self lol is that weird?@SweetMae

@Gr8Guy1979 I don't think it is weird. A good counselor will not divulge anything about any of his clients.
