I Write Poetry

Stay in your lane, don't move to quick
Stay at your pace, or suffer the whip
Be who you should be, be who you are
Don't leave your comfort, don't go too far
Smart and smug, give me a quip
Judgemental you, how easy it is
To each their own, their own life to live
Open your mind, I'm open to give
Give to you, what you lack
Understanding, compassion, you slip through the cracks
High above, you see yourself
High above, you are top shelf
In your eyes, these things are true
In your eyes, I see the real you.

@sspec I meant that part in a sarcastic way, can't think of a better way to describe it right now. In my mind, kind of like a mother warning her kid not to do something in that little sing song tone and the kid rolling his eyes. Weird description but that's how I imagined it, a warning not to be taken seriously I guess. Writing is what keeps me going, it makes me happy, makes me feel heard. Thanks for reading.
