The Greatest Story Ever Told

The greatest story ever told
is not just words to me
nor is it a list of rules
to ensure slavery -
No, it's God's message, full of love
and it has made me free!

It tells me of a love so full
He sent His son to die
to pay the penalty of sin
instead of you and I.
And all the time He knew, that some would
would say it's all a lie!

It tells me of a love so strong
He rose up from the grave
And promised that all who believe
in Him, He'll surely save -
Adopted sons and daughters, we
because our God forgave!

It tells me of a love so sure
no-one can take away
it's not based on the deeds I do
nor on the words I say
For His great love will be the same
today as yesterday!
